Information Architect at Nacka Municipality

Are you passionate about how information architecture, data analysis, and digitalization can contribute to good societal development? Do you want to help lead Nacka into the future as a data-driven municipality, equipped for AI?

Nacka Municipality is undertaking a strategic initiative to strengthen our ability to use data as a shared resource for analysis, monitoring, and decision support.

We are now looking for an information architect who will play a key role in Nacka's digital transformation!

As an information architect, your mission will be to transform data into a shared and usable resource, structuring and developing the municipality's datasets so that they can be used effectively across organizational boundaries for the municipality's operations.

Your Mission

As an information architect, you will have a central position in the digitalization unit to drive municipality-wide architectural issues. You will also play a key role in our initiative for a municipality-wide data analysis function, in a newly established collaboration between the digitalization unit and the geodata unit.

In the municipality, we have a tailored governance model for information systems based on pm3. This means we organize both management and development in so-called objects where operations and IT work together to achieve the operational goals with the support of IT and digitalization.

You will contribute both strategically and operationally to establish processes, routines, roles, and documentation so that operations can optimally utilize data in their processes, and so that data can be used across organizational boundaries.

You will also contribute to ensuring compliance with new and current legislation, such as the Cybersecurity Act, the AI Regulation, and the Open Data Act.

The role is broad and requires both a strategic holistic perspective and the ability to translate theory into practical action. You are expected to take a clear lead in identifying the need for new governing principles and lead the work to implement these in close collaboration with various operations and IT. You will act as a strategic advisor and requirement setter in digitalization initiatives and procurements, to ensure that we build a sustainable and future-proof overall architecture.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of information architect, you will report to Nacka Municipality's Chief Digital Officer, Brita Rösblad. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Structuring, designing, developing, documenting, and managing the municipality's information, concept, and data models, as well as mapping and ensuring common definitions, datasets, and data flows across operational boundaries.
  • Collaborating with data analysts, operations, and other parties, leading workshops, and supporting change efforts.
  • Contributing to governance, principles, and guidelines for information and data architecture, including data quality, lifecycle perspective, and requirement setting in digitalization initiatives and procurements.
  • Monitoring national and regional initiatives and standards, as well as keeping track of legislation affecting information supply and digital development.

Is This You?

To succeed in this role, you are communicative, collaborative, and attentive, with a good ability to explain complex relationships in a pedagogical way. You thrive in a role where you work both strategically and operationally and where you need to navigate between different stakeholders and perspectives in an environment characterized by constant development and change.

You are results-oriented, solution-focused, and take responsibility for driving your tasks and processes forward, with a clear focus on operational benefit in both the short and long term.

You make the difficult easy and are always part of the solution, which allows you to engage your surroundings and motivate the organization.

Your Experience

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Relevant academic education in, for example, data and systems science or equivalent
  • Experience working with data and information architecture in complex organizations
  • Good understanding of how data is used for analysis, monitoring, and decision support
  • Ability to work in a structured, analytical, and long-term manner
  • Strong self-leadership with a strong ability to take initiative and drive issues forward
  • Basic knowledge of information security and data protection

Meritorious:

  • Experience from the public sector
  • Knowledge of data platforms, data warehouses, and analysis and BI solutions
  • Experience in governing shared information across organizational boundaries
  • Experience with legislation such as GDPR, the Cybersecurity Act, and the AI Regulation, preferably in a municipal context.
  • Experience working with an established system management model, e.g., pm3.

We Offer

  • A strategic and socially important mission with significant impact where you will have a key role and the opportunity to make a difference
  • The opportunity to help shape the municipality's long-term data and analysis capability
  • Close collaboration with competent, engaged, and friendly colleagues
  • A workplace that values development, collaboration, and a holistic perspective and that consistently receives very good results in employee surveys

In Nacka, you will have the opportunity to work in a municipality that wants to be the best in Sweden at being a municipality, with openness and diversity as its vision and a fundamental value of trusting people's knowledge, will, and ability.

In this recruitment, particular emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, such as the ability to collaborate, a holistic perspective, results, and accountability.
